Overview
Debate Camp Canada aims to empower students with the skills of effective communication and teamwork through the avenue of competitive debate and public speaking. The goal of our program is to inspire young people to become informed and articulate global citizens who can present mature ideas in a confident and convincing manner.
Since 2002, Debate Camp has filled to capacity with a wide variety of students. Many are new to public speaking and debating. Others are experienced debaters seeking further competitive training. Our counsellors are either undergraduate or graduate level university students, many of whom have competed internationally. Camp enrolment for our one-week residential program is limited to 60 campers. Campers ranging from grades 6 - 11 each participate in various ability groupings dependent on their experience level. The staff to camper ratio is 1:8.
